2.  Non-registrable Track

Non registrable track graduation requirement:

  • Completion of the 6 base modules as prescribed below

Registrable track graduation requirement:

  • Completion of the 6 base modules + 7 registration required modules + 100 hours of supervised practice as prescribed below

Individuals who wishes to seek out professional registration as a professional counsellor with Singapore Association for Counselling are advised to pursue the registrable track.

Base Modules

Below 6 modules are general base modules required for the qualification: "Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy". This track is not registrable with Singapore Association for Counselling.

Additional Required Modules for Professional Registrations

Below 7 modules are additional required modules for the qualification: "Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy" for learners who are seeking professional registration with established professional associations.

Academic Requirements

  1. Above 21 years of age, and

  2. Degree in psychology or counselling related or other qualifications of equivalent level, or

  3. Mature candidates who are at least 30 years old with at least 8 years of working experience.


Language Requirements:
1. At least a pass (mini
mum ‘E’) at GCE A-Level English or IELTS

Optional Practicum

This optional practicum component is required for any learners seeking out professional registration with Singapore Association of Counselling (SAC), Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA), National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society UK (NCPS), or any other established professional counselling associations.

Requirements for contact hours for practicum:

1.  Postgraduate Diploma level - 100 contact hours*

*Requirements may vary depending on the professional counselling associations.

Additional cost for the optional practicum component:

1.  Postgraduate diploma level - included in the course fee under the (registration track)
